CPI demands price support fund for tobacco farmers in Andhra Pradesh
The Communist Party of India has raised concerns about price distress affecting tobacco farmers in Andhra Pradesh. The party is demanding a ₹500-crore Price Stabilisation Fund to shield growers from market volatility.
CPI has called for stronger government participation in tobacco auctions and guaranteed remunerative prices for farmers. The party warns that without such measures, the crisis could escalate into a larger agrarian challenge in the state.
