Cyclone Arnab to hit Andhra Pradesh-Odisha coast, multiple states on alert

Cyclone Arnab, currently a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal, is expected to make landfall along the north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur. Multiple states in the eastern region have been placed on weather alert as the system approaches.

Authorities in both Andhra Pradesh and Odisha are preparing evacuation plans and stockpiling relief materials ahead of the anticipated crossing. Fishermen have been advised against venturing into the sea, and warnings have been issued for coastal and low-lying areas.
