Delhi-Mumbai rail route targets 160 kmph operations, 12-hour journey under Mission Raftaar

The Indian Railways is targeting high-speed operations on the Delhi-Mumbai rail corridor as part of Mission Raftaar, an initiative to modernize key routes. The project aims to enable trains to operate at 160 kilometres per hour, reducing the journey time between the two metros to approximately 12 hours.
Mission Raftaar focuses on upgrading railway infrastructure on major routes to facilitate faster, more efficient train services. The Delhi-Mumbai corridor is among the priority sections identified for this acceleration programme.
