Delhi Police Foils Major Terror Plot; 9 Held in Crackdown On Dawood-ISI Linked Network

In a significant counter-terror operation, the Delhi Police Special Cell has dismantled an alleged terror network with suspected links to fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI, leading to the arrest of nine individuals.
According to sources, the group had allegedly been preparing coordinated attacks targeting strategic installations, security personnel, and religious locations across the national capital. Investigators believe the network was cultivated over an extended period and was intended to serve as an operational arm for terror activities in Delhi.
During the operation, security agencies reportedly seized a large quantity of weapons, hand grenades, and explosive materials, preventing what officials describe as a serious threat to public safety. Among those detained are individuals suspected of having cross-border connections, including some of Nepali origin.
Preliminary findings suggest that the arrested suspects were in contact with handlers based in Pakistan and were also linked to operatives associated with the Mumbai underworld. Authorities are examining communication records, financial transactions, and logistical arrangements to uncover the full extent of the network.
The Special Cell has launched an extensive investigation into the module's funding sources, recruitment mechanisms, and local support structure. Officials are working to identify additional facilitators who may have assisted the accused in carrying out the alleged conspiracy.
The development comes amid ongoing efforts by Indian agencies to dismantle the broader D-Company network. Last month, authorities secured the return of Mohammad Salim Dola, a senior associate of Dawood Ibrahim, from Turkey. Dola, who had been evading Indian agencies since 2020, was deported following coordinated action by Turkish law enforcement and Indian authorities.
His arrest is considered a key breakthrough in investigations into international narcotics trafficking and organised crime syndicates allegedly linked to D-Company. Investigators believe information obtained from Dola could help expose cross-border smuggling routes, financial channels, and dormant criminal networks operating in India.
Security agencies continue to analyse evidence recovered during the latest Delhi operation as efforts intensify to uncover the wider network behind the alleged terror plot.
