DMK defends Udhayanidhi's detention, blames TVK government

The DMK hit out at the ruling TVK and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Vijay following the detention of party member Udhayanidhi Stalin over allegedly offensive remarks. The DMK claimed the detention was grounded in "false and fabricated" allegations.
The party denied that Udhayanidhi had made the comments attributed to him, stating he had never mentioned the person in question. The DMK's statement came as a sharp rebuke to the TVK-led government's action against one of the opposition party's prominent members.
