US stocks fall as Brent crude surges past $100 on US-Iran tensions

US stock markets declined on Wednesday as Brent crude oil prices crossed the $100 per barrel mark. The Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq composite all experienced losses amid the oil price surge.
The spike in crude prices was triggered by recent military tensions between the United States and Iran. The ongoing conflict has disrupted critical oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy chokepoint.
European markets also fell in tandem, while Asian markets showed mixed results. The oil price movement reflects investor concerns over supply disruptions stemming from the geopolitical crisis.
