Egg Thrown at TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh Outside Mamata's Residence

An egg was thrown at TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh near Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's residence in Kolkata, according to news agency ANI. The incident, captured on video, caused brief chaos before security personnel intervened.

This comes amid heightened political tensions in West Bengal. About two weeks earlier, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee was assaulted by BJP workers in South Sonpur while visiting TMC activists affected by post-election violence. He faced stone pelting, shoe throwing, and eggs being hurled at him before being extracted with a helmet.

The political situation has further deteriorated following reports that 20 rebel TMC MPs announced merger with the Nationalist Citizens Party, dealing a significant blow to Mamata Banerjee's party.
