Worst of El Niño heat wave yet to come, peak expected in December

Climate scientists have cautioned that India faces increasingly severe heat conditions as El Niño effects intensify across the region. The worst impacts of the current El Niño phenomenon are yet to materialise, with meteorological experts projecting peak intensity in December.
The warming pattern is expected to drive further temperature increases and alter monsoon behaviour in coming months. Authorities are urging preparedness for extended heat stress affecting agriculture, water resources, and public health.
India's weather monitoring agencies continue tracking El Niño developments and issuing regular forecasts to help states plan mitigation measures against potential climate-related disruptions.
