EU drops aluminium scrap export duty to ease India trade talks

The European Union has withdrawn its plan to impose an export duty on aluminium scrap, citing concerns raised by India during trade discussions. The decision came after internal EU negotiations and pressure from the Indian side, which viewed the levy as an obstacle to a broader free trade agreement.
Instead of the duty, the EU will rely on environmental regulations to manage aluminium scrap exports. Both sides are working toward finalizing their trade agreement by December.
