Over 2,000 Farmers March to CM's Residence in Bhopal; City Traffic Disrupted

Around 2,000 farmers marched toward the Chief Minister's residence in Bhopal on Wednesday, escalating their protest over demands for 100% government procurement of moong and changes in the fertilizer distribution system. The agitation began after a late-night meeting between farmer leaders and district officials on Tuesday failed to resolve their grievances. Officials had proposed a week-long extension to address the issue, but farmers rejected this.
The march caused significant traffic disruption across the city, affecting movement on Hoshangabad Road, AIIMS Square, Bansal Plaza and Katara Hills Road. Traffic on Narmadapuram Road was diverted, and schools in the vicinity declared holidays. Authorities increased police deployment at key locations and erected barricades to manage the situation.
Videos of the protest circulated widely on social media, showing farmers cooking meals on roadsides and breaking through police barriers while chanting slogans. Netizens criticized the government's inaction and called for immediate dialogue with the protesting farmers.
