Thousands of fish die in Bengaluru's Doddagubbi Lake after pollution surge

Thousands of fish have died in Doddagubbi Lake, a 125-acre water body located in Bengaluru's Mahadevapura Assembly constituency. The mass die-off occurred after polluted water entered the lake during recent rainfall.
Local officials suspect a sharp fall in dissolved oxygen levels as the primary cause of the fish deaths. The pollution surge coincided with heavy rains that brought contaminated water into the lake ecosystem.
