Flydubai flight diverted to Saudi Arabia after cockpit confrontation between pilots

Flydubai flight FZ1073, carrying approximately 180 passengers, was diverted to Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after an emergency incident unfolded mid-flight. The aircraft had transmitted international emergency code 7700, followed by the more serious 7500 signal indicating unlawful interference, before landing safely with all passengers and crew accounted for.
According to Israeli officials and media reports, the emergency appears to have been triggered by a physical confrontation between the two pilots inside the cockpit. Some passenger accounts and Hebrew-language media suggest one pilot attempted to force the aircraft into a dangerous descent before the other pilot intervened to regain control. Channel 14 reported that one pilot may have attempted suicide by forcing a rapid descent, though this remains unconfirmed.
The exact sequence of events remains unclear and is now under investigation. Flydubai confirmed the incident occurred and the aircraft landed safely, with security forces surrounding the plane at Tabuk Airport.
