German Football Team Encounters Venomous Snake at World Cup Base Camp in USA

Germany's football team has reported encountering a venomous copperhead snake at their base camp in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, during the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Captain Joshua Kimmich highlighted the unexpected challenge, noting that players must now be cautious about potential wildlife threats alongside their usual tournament concerns.
Kimmich stated that the discovery of the snake's venomous nature has prompted the team to maintain distance from animals in the area. Similar complaints have emerged from the Swiss and Norwegian teams, who have also taken precautions such as marking snake-prone areas at their camps. Norwegian captain Kristian Thorstvedt expressed displeasure upon learning that copperheads are common in the region.
The German squad, four-time world champions, defeated Curacao 7-1 in their opening match and face Ivory Coast on June 21.
