Greater Noida Bus Fire: Driver, Conductor Ignored Burning Smell Warnings, Nine Dead

A sleeper bus carrying 30-35 passengers caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway near the 33-km milestone on the Noida-Agra carriageway around midnight. The incident has claimed nine lives, with several injured passengers receiving treatment.
According to a complaint by passenger Sunil Kumar, around 11:30 pm passengers detected a strong burning smell from the driver's cabin. When some passengers alerted the driver and conductor, they allegedly dismissed the concerns, claiming such smells were common and continued smoking without stopping for inspection.
Police have registered an FIR and arrested the driver and conductor. Investigators suspect the fire originated from the bus engine. The bus was travelling from Delhi's Kashmere Gate towards Hamirpur district when the blaze erupted.
