Farmers clash with police at Hansi during Haryana CM's Independence Day event

Farm unions and khap panchayats clashed with police in Hansi during Chief Minister's Independence Day event on Tuesday. The protesters were demanding an arrest in connection with the August 4 murder of a Hisar dairy operative.

Police said they used force to disperse the crowd after it turned unruly. The superintendent of police stated that stone-throwing was necessary to manage the situation. Opposition parties have criticised the police action during the event.
