India invites regional blocs to BRICS summit to strengthen Global South ties

India has invited major regional groupings of developing economies to the BRICS summit, aiming to build a wider Global South network. The invitations extend to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), ASEAN, Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), African Union (AU), and the Bay of Bengal Initiative (BIMSTEC).
The move reflects India's strategy to strengthen cooperation among developing nations on shared priorities. By bringing together diverse regional blocs, India seeks to amplify the voice of the Global South on crucial international issues and foster deeper economic and political engagement.
