India's farm yields rise, but China produces twice as much grain

India's agricultural productivity in rice, wheat and maize has shown improvement, according to BRICS data. However, China maintains a significant lead in total cereal production, generating more than double India's combined output across these staple crops.
The comparison highlights the gap between India's per-hectare yield improvements and its overall production volume relative to China. Despite gains in farming efficiency, India's total grain production remains substantially lower than its regional counterpart.
