India and Japan finalise Joint Crediting Mechanism framework

India and Japan have finalised the implementation framework for their Joint Crediting Mechanism, a bilateral agreement aimed at financing projects that reduce or eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. The JCM enables Japanese investment and technology to support climate mitigation initiatives across India.
The mechanism allows both countries to collaborate on identifying and implementing environmental projects, with Japan providing financial and technological support. This framework is expected to accelerate India's transition toward cleaner energy and sustainability goals.
