India sends eighth aid consignment to Nepal after devastating floods; death toll exceeds 1,300

Following devastating floods in Nepal on August 26, India has dispatched its eighth consignment of relief and rescue materials to Kathmandu. Indian Ambassador Navin Srivastava confirmed that the 35-tonne shipment arrived safely and was handed over to Nepal's Minister Mahaber Pun.
India's Ministry of External Affairs stated that the IAF's eighth aircraft carried NDRF equipment, rescue materials, forensic supplies, and military team provisions. This is part of India's broader relief effort, with seven previous flights having delivered 95 tonnes of aid. The death toll from the August 26 floods has crossed 1,300, with thousands still missing.
India has reiterated its commitment to support Nepal's rescue and reconstruction efforts. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized India's solidarity as a close friend and neighbour, deploying forensic and tunnel rescue teams to assist ongoing recovery operations.
