India sends first consignment of Bailey bridge components to flood-affected area

India has sent its first consignment of Bailey bridge components to assist flood-affected regions. Bailey bridges are prefabricated steel structures commonly used for temporary river crossings and emergency infrastructure during natural disasters.
The deployment forms part of India's humanitarian response to recent flooding. Such bridges enable rapid restoration of connectivity in disaster zones, facilitating rescue operations and supply delivery to affected communities.
