Iranian President Meets Abu Dhabi Crown Prince at BRICS Summit in Delhi

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in New Delhi on the sidelines of the BRICS summit on September 12. The meeting carried significance given recent strain in bilateral relations, stemming from Iran's strikes on US bases in the UAE as retaliation for US attacks on Iranian installations.

Both sides discussed regional and international issues, de-escalation, stability, and efforts to advance regional peace and development. The meeting occurs as Iran prepares for talks with Gulf Cooperation Council members and Iraq in Oman on September 14 to discuss transit agreements through the Strait of Hormuz—the first such meeting since the West Asia conflict began.
