IRCS to compile comprehensive data on all blood banks in Andhra Pradesh

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) will collect detailed data on all blood banks operating in Andhra Pradesh. The information gathered will be uploaded onto the Blood Banks Management Software (BBMS) to prevent commercialisation, check the spread of diseases, and identify irregularities in operations.

Andhra Pradesh currently has 246 registered blood banks. The centralised database initiative aims to improve transparency and oversight across the state's blood banking sector.
