Jagan Mohan Reddy challenges Lokesh's literacy claim, cites lower Centre survey figure
YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has challenged Education Minister Nara Lokesh's claim that Andhra Pradesh has achieved 82.1% literacy. Reddy cited a Centre-conducted survey that pegged the state's literacy rate at 71.4%, questioning the credibility of Lokesh's figure posted on social media.
Lokesh had attributed the higher figure to the Akshara Andhra literacy drive. However, Reddy noted that no published survey data backs the minister's claim, describing it as unfounded.
