Countries distant from conflicts being penalised, says Jaishankar at UN

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed the UN General Assembly, invoking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's earlier remarks to contend that nations far removed from conflict zones are facing unwarranted penalties.
Jaishankar called upon the assembly to "face up to the true state of affairs," emphasising the need for the global body to address what he characterised as an inequitable situation affecting non-aligned and distant nations.
The statement reflects India's broader diplomatic position on global conflicts and their disproportionate impact on developing economies.
