Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Likely to Resign Amid Leadership Shift in Few Days, DK Shivakumar Emerges As Frontrunner

Karnataka’s political landscape is witnessing heightened activity as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is expected to tender his resignation in the coming days amid ongoing leadership realignment within the ruling setup. According to political sources, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has emerged as the leading contender to take over the top post.
Reports suggest that Siddaramaiah has sought an appointment with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, where he may formally submit his resignation as part of the transition process being discussed at the highest levels.
Ahead of the expected political development, Siddaramaiah is also likely to host a breakfast meeting with the state cabinet at his Bengaluru residence, indicating coordination within the ruling leadership before any formal announcement.
Senior Congress leadership is also expected to play a key role in the transition, with Randeep Surjewala scheduled to arrive in Bengaluru for consultations with party leaders to finalise the roadmap.
According to reports, the swearing-in ceremony for the new Chief Minister may take place in the coming days if the resignation process is completed smoothly. Discussions within the party high command are said to be focused on ensuring a structured leadership change in the state.
