Amid weak monsoon, Karnataka CM warns of water and power shortage

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Shivakumar has warned that the state may face acute water and power shortages owing to a weak monsoon season. The inadequate rainfall has impacted water availability and hydroelectric generation across the state.
The Chief Minister's alert comes as Karnataka grapples with the effects of below-normal monsoon precipitation. Officials are assessing the extent of the shortfall and its implications for agriculture, drinking water supply, and power generation in the state.
