Court dismisses PIL challenging Shivakumar's council of ministers

A Karnataka court has dismissed a public interest litigation that sought to challenge the constitutional validity of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's council of ministers. The petition was based on the contention that the number of ministers cannot fall below 12% of the total legislative assembly strength.
The court rejected this argument, clarifying that the constitutional framework does not mandate a minimum threshold of 12% for cabinet size. The ruling allows the CM to continue functioning with his current ministerial composition without legal impediment.
