Karnataka to set up district units to prevent maternal deaths

Karnataka is establishing district-level action plans to eliminate preventable maternal deaths in the state. The initiative will be overseen by dedicated units at the district level to focus on reducing maternal mortality.
A State-level unit will also be created to coordinate these efforts, headed by a designated officer, according to an announcement by a senior state official. The move aims to strengthen existing maternal health infrastructure and address gaps in care that lead to preventable deaths.
