Karnataka Police Register 8 FIRs Over Voter Roll Deletion Attempts

Five days after the Election Commission instructed Karnataka's election officials to investigate false Form 7 applications and initiate legal proceedings, eight police cases have been registered. The FIRs relate to alleged attempts to delete voters from electoral rolls using disputed forms.
Form 7 is used to request deletion from voter lists. The cases follow Election Commission scrutiny of applications that appeared to have been filed falsely or without proper voter consent. No complaints have been filed with the Election Commission so far, though the EC's directive prompted police action.
The development underscores concerns over electoral roll integrity in the state ahead of upcoming electoral processes.
