Successive governments failed to accelerate irrigation projects in Cauvery and Krishna basins: SC advocate

Senior Supreme Court advocate Mohan Kataraki has criticized successive governments in Karnataka for failing to expedite work on irrigation projects in the Cauvery and Krishna river basins. He argued that the state requires a significant increase in funding to accelerate these projects.

Kataraki emphasized that doubling the allocation for irrigation infrastructure would be essential to address the water management challenges in these critical basins and improve agricultural productivity across the state.
