Karnataka Minister B Nagendra Resigns Over Valmiki Scam, Second Time

Karnataka Planning and Statistics Minister B Nagendra announced his resignation from the state Cabinet on Friday, breaking down emotionally during a press conference. He cited the ongoing political controversy surrounding the Valmiki Corporation fund diversion case as the reason, saying he did not want the controversy to hinder the state's development or Chief Minister D K Shivakumar's vision.
Nagendra maintained he had done nothing wrong and accused the BJP of attempting to portray him as guilty without cause. He described the situation as a "test" for the people of Karnataka, while noting that the Chief Minister and party leadership had upheld his innocence.
This marks Nagendra's second resignation over the same Valmiki scam controversy. He had previously stepped down from ministerial office in 2024 before being reinstated weeks ago, only to face renewed scrutiny.
