Karnataka faces widespread power cuts as drought worsens

Karnataka is experiencing widespread power outages, with complaints mounting from across the state. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had previously cautioned that the state could face severe shortages of both electricity and drinking water as drought conditions deteriorate.
The power cuts reflect mounting pressure on the state's power infrastructure amid the worsening drought. Both electricity generation and water availability have been strained as water levels in reservoirs decline.
