Karnataka to Resume Student Elections After 37-Year Ban

Karnataka is set to resume student elections after a gap of 37 years. Student polls were last held during the 1989-90 academic year, following which the Veerendra Patil-led Congress government imposed a ban on them.
The decision to revive student elections marks a significant shift in the state's educational governance, allowing students to participate in democratic processes within their institutions.
