Karnataka sugarcane farmers end Hubballi protest after minister's appeal, agree to Delhi talks

Thousands of sugarcane growers from Karnataka and neighbouring Maharashtra and Telangana held a major protest at Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi on Tuesday. The farmers demanded remunerative prices for sugarcane and a revision of the minimum selling price (MSP) of sugar.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi appealed to the protesting farmers to end their agitation. Local MLAs Tenginakai and Patil also intervened in the matter. Following their intervention, the farmers agreed to hold talks in Delhi and withdrew the protest.
