Kerala govt orders police inquiry into ED report against Vijayan

The Kerala government has ordered a police inquiry into an Enforcement Directorate report that seeks action against former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in connection with the Exalogic-CMRL payoff case. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala stated that the decision was based on legal prerequisites and Supreme Court judgments regarding ED's sharing of information with law enforcement agencies.
Chennithala dismissed allegations by the CPI(M) that the move was politically motivated, emphasizing that established legal frameworks guided the government's action. The case pertains to alleged financial irregularities involving the companies Exalogic and CMRL during Vijayan's tenure as Chief Minister.
