Postgraduate medical students sitting idle is 'national waste': Kerala High Court

The Kerala High Court has described postgraduate medical students remaining idle as a "national waste" and directed the state to decide on creating supernumerary posts for 23 postgraduates to serve as Senior Residents under their compulsory medical bond.
The court ordered that the residency period should commence from the date of result publication. The ruling addresses the employment status of PG medical graduates who have completed their studies but lack designated positions to fulfill their mandatory service obligations.
