Kerala government issues White Paper on fiscal health, seeks overhaul of loss-making PSUs

The Kerala government has released a White Paper addressing the state's fiscal challenges, calling for significant restructuring of loss-making public sector enterprises. The document identifies Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), and Kerala Water Authority (KWA) as requiring urgent reform measures.
The White Paper also recommends merging the Kerala State Beverages Corporation with the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) to improve operational efficiency. These proposals aim to address persistent financial pressures on state-run institutions and improve overall fiscal health.
