Indian-born cheetah KGP 12 gives birth to 4 cubs at Kuno National Park

A day after India's Cheetah Project completed four years, Indian-born cheetah KGP 12 gave birth to four healthy cubs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. The births have raised the total cheetah population in India to 56, of which 36 are Indian-born.
This is the second breeding for KGP 12. In April, she had given birth to four cubs in the wild, but they were killed in a suspected leopard attack. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav described the latest births as a historical moment for Project Cheetah, noting that Kuno's environment is becoming increasingly favourable for cheetah breeding and conservation.
Union Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav called the births "a beautiful symbol of hope, resilience and the growing success of cheetah conservation in India."
