Left parties, Congress demand withdrawal of cases against Eluru protesters

Left parties and the Congress have jointly called for the withdrawal of cases registered against protesters in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. The opposition parties have raised concerns over what they describe as heavy-handed state action against demonstrations in the region.
The demand comes amid ongoing tensions in Eluru, where multiple cases were filed against participants in recent protests. Opposition leaders argue that the cases were filed to suppress legitimate dissent and curtail citizens' democratic rights.
The parties have called on the state government to reconsider its approach and withdraw the legal proceedings, framing the issue as a matter of protecting democratic freedoms and the right to peaceful protest.
