MAATI initiative helps Bihar women artists expand horizons

MAATI, short for Mithila Art Artisan Transformative Initiative, supports women artisans from Madhubhani and Darbhanga districts in Bihar. The initiative recently brought four women artisans to Bengaluru to exhibit their works.

The showcased pieces ranged from textile work to wall art, reflecting the traditional Mithila art forms these artisans practice. The initiative aims to help these women artists move beyond conventional art practice and explore broader opportunities.
