MEA urges US to ensure safety of Indians after failed Illinois temple attack

The Ministry of External Affairs has called on the United States to ensure the safety and security of Indians after an attempted mass shooting at a temple in Illinois was foiled.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the incident underscores rising concerns about hate crimes and racial discrimination targeting the Indian community in the United States. The failed attack at the place of worship prompted India to formally raise the issue of protecting its citizens abroad.
The statement reflects growing diplomatic attention to safety concerns faced by Indian nationals in America, particularly in the context of religious and ethnic targeting.
