Monsoon set to withdraw from North-West India within five days

The India Meteorological Department has indicated that monsoon conditions are expected to begin withdrawing from North-West India within five days, with West Rajasthan likely to see the retreat by Saturday.
All-India rainfall deficit has expanded to 15 percent, with the South Peninsula recording the steepest shortfall at 28 percent. The early withdrawal signals the end of the monsoon season in parts of the country.
The IMD's update comes as agricultural and weather-dependent sectors monitor the monsoon's impact on the season.
