Multiple routes needed for IMEC corridor: French envoy

Gérard Mestrallet, France's special envoy, has stressed the need to develop multiple routes for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), particularly given escalating tensions in Iran that have prompted a reassessment of connectivity plans.
Mestrallet highlighted growing interest from regional players including Oman, Egypt, Lebanon, Greece, and Cyprus in participating in and expanding the corridor project. The diversification of routes aims to ensure resilience and sustainability of the economic linkage amid geopolitical uncertainties in the region.
