Choose short-duration crops in low-rainfall areas, Nellore official advises farmers

The District Agriculture Officer in Nellore has advised farmers to cultivate short-duration crops in low-rainfall areas and sow only when there is adequate rain and soil moisture available.
P. Satyavani, the District Agriculture Officer, emphasised that farmers should plan paddy cultivation only after assessing water availability in their regions. The guidance comes as El Niño conditions affect rainfall patterns across the agricultural areas.
