Nepal floods sweep bodies 200km downstream; 3 recovered in Uttar Pradesh
A significant collapse in the Himalayan region caused a seismic disturbance, triggering a violent flood surge that reached Rasuwagadhi at the Nepal-Tibet border within seven minutes. Recovery operations have extended across multiple districts in both Nepal and India, with bodies swept up to 200 kilometres downstream.
Nepal's flood authorities were notified only after the surge had already impacted Bhote Koshi river. Three bodies have been recovered so far in Uttar Pradesh. In response, SMS warnings were promptly issued to residents along the riverbanks.
