Netanyahu invites PM Modi, pilot Abhinandan Varthaman to Israel Independence Day event
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended invitations to India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman to participate in Israel's Independence Day event. Netanyahu, in a post on X, described both as heroes for Israel, India, and the world, inviting them to light a flame during the celebration.
The gesture comes as part of ongoing bilateral relations between India and Israel. Pilot Varthaman, who was captured during the 2019 Balakot crisis and later released, has become a prominent figure symbolizing India-Pakistan tensions.
