NHRC seeks report from Darbhanga DM over school roof collapse, student safety at risk

The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Darbhanga district magistrate seeking a detailed report on a school roof collapse incident that put 191 students at risk. The NHRC has asked for the report to be submitted within two weeks.
The notice comes after the incident at the school in Darbhanga district, Bihar, where structural failure posed a serious threat to student safety. The commission has sought comprehensive details from the district administration regarding the circumstances that led to the roof collapse and measures taken to ensure the protection of the affected students.
This action by the NHRC highlights concerns about infrastructure safety standards in educational institutions and the need for regular maintenance and structural audits in schools across the state.
