Pakistan spends nearly $6 million on Indus Waters case against India in Hague

Pakistan has allocated nearly $6 million toward its case against India over Indus Waters at the international tribunal in The Hague, according to budget documents reviewed by media outlets.
The allocation far exceeds spending earmarked for Pakistan's domestic flood-related offices, reflecting the government's prioritization of the water dispute case. This comes as austerity measures have curtailed spending across other sectors of the Pakistani administration.
The Indus Waters Treaty, signed in 1960 between India and Pakistan, governs the sharing and management of the Indus River system. Pakistan has pursued the case at the World Bank-administered tribunal, claiming India's dam projects violate treaty provisions.
