Pope Leo to be discharged Saturday, four days after lung cancer surgery

Pope Leo, 71, is set to be discharged from hospital on Saturday, four days after undergoing surgery for lung cancer. Doctors had identified a suspected cancerous nodule in his right lung, leading to the removal of its lower lobe.
Surgical findings confirmed the presence of adenocarcinoma, the most common form of lung cancer. The pontiff's recovery has progressed well enough to warrant discharge within days of the procedure.
