Punjab Congress stages protest over villager's death, water cannons deployed

Congress members in Punjab staged a protest against the Aam Aadmi Party following the death of Gulzar Singh, a 47-year-old from Dirba in Sangrur district, who died on September 7. According to his family, Singh had questioned AAP minister Harpal Cheema about drug supply in the area during a public event in Dirba.
Police used water cannons to disperse the Congress protesters during the demonstration. The incident has intensified tensions between the two parties in the state.
